The Advanced Manufacturing Park (AMP) is the UK’s premier advanced manufacturing technology park, providing world-class advanced manufacturing technology solutions to ensure repetitive advantage for industry.

It’s located on a 100 acre site on the Rotherham-Sheffield border, the result of a highly successful strategic joint venture between public and private sector organisations including the landowner Harworth Estates to create an internationally recognised centre for engineering, innovation, research and manufacturing excellence.

The AMP is home to world-class research and manufacturing organisations and has two of the UK Government’s High Value Catapult centres in the AMRC (a Boeing / University of Sheffield partnership) and the Nuclear AMRC. It is also home to Rolls-Royce’s Advanced Blade Casting Facility, Castings Technology International (Cti), Sandvik Coromant, TWI’s Yorkshire Technology Centre, Nikken Kosakusho, McLaren Automotive, Xeros and many others.

Technologies on the AMP centre on materials and structures, covering metallic and composite materials. Typically they are used in precision industries including aerospace, automotive, medical devices, sport, environmental and energy, oil and gas, defence and construction.

Components developed on the AMP are used in leading edge projects such as within Formula One and the next generation of defence and commercial aircraft, including the Boeing 787 Dreamliner.
